Jobber pricing: read the billing commitment first

Jobber displays several ways to pay, so the amount beside a plan name is only part of the decision. The table above uses standard month-to-month pricing and the monthly equivalent of an annual payment. Jobber also offers a one-year commitment paid monthly. That is a different arrangement from either column. Ask which billing basis applies to the checkout offer you are reviewing, and read the cancellation terms before treating a lower headline amount as a flexible monthly subscription.

For an owner working alone, begin with the tasks the software must handle. If the immediate problem is preparing a customer document, the quote template lets you test your scope and line items first. Write down how many quotes you send, who follows them up, and where the approved work goes next. A plan comparison becomes more useful when it is attached to those recurring tasks rather than an abstract list of features.

The listed annual figures are monthly equivalents, not twelve separate payments under the no-commitment option. Multiply by twelve to understand the subscription outlay over a year. Exclude introductory promotions from that comparison unless you also calculate the renewal period. A low first payment can be useful, but it should not replace the ongoing amount in the budget you use for a recurring business expense.

Jobber cost: one, three and five people

Count the people who need their own access, including the owner if the owner also schedules or quotes. Then choose the bundle that covers the required users and features. The calculator uses Connect because its published feature list includes QuickBooks Online synchronization. A one-person comparison therefore uses the single-user Connect option; the three- and five-person scenarios use the five-user Connect bundle. The calculator is not multiplying a solo plan by the number of technicians.

There is no extra-user charge in these specific scenarios because the selected bundle already contains the seats. The live page presents larger bundles as well, but this calculator stops at five people. It does not extrapolate the older research figure for an extra user into a current offer. If you need six or more logins, obtain the applicable bundle or extra-seat terms directly from Jobber before budgeting.

Use the labor cost calculator to understand your own crew costs separately from software access. A subscription seat is not a billable labor hour, and a lower software cost per person does not automatically make a larger team economical. For another vendor’s included-seat approach, open Housecall Pro pricing. Keep the same headcount and accounting requirement selected when comparing the totals so a cheaper plan is not missing a feature you consider essential.

Jobber pricing: QuickBooks and quote follow-ups

The feature gate matters most when a small business is moving from a document file to an ongoing job workflow. Jobber’s published plan description puts QuickBooks Online synchronization and automated quote and invoice follow-ups in Connect. Core is a different starting point. A solo owner who needs those capabilities should evaluate the cost of the plan containing them, even if the entry plan looks sufficient when judged only by the number of users.

Test the workflow with a representative job. Prepare a quote, change one item, record approval, and inspect what reaches the accounting system. Check how deposits, taxes, corrections and customer records are handled. A feature label confirms that a capability is offered; it does not answer every question about your existing books or the way your accountant wants records organized. Make that review part of evaluating the software.

The estimate template helps separate an uncertain scope from a final customer offer before testing either system. The Jobber versus Housecall Pro comparison keeps QuickBooks access consistent across both subscription calculations. For a broader shortlist, see Jobber alternatives. The appropriate tier is the one that supports the work you actually intend to do, with its recurring cost and operational limits understood before you depend on it.

Jobber cost: processing fees are separate

Software and payment processing belong on separate budget lines. Jobber’s pricing page lists an online transaction rate of 2.9% plus 30 cents and a bank-payment rate of 1%. The calculator above reports subscription cost only. It cannot estimate your processing bill without knowing how much you collect, how many transactions you have, and which payment methods your customers use. Do not add a single flat processing number to every crew-size scenario.

For a worked online-payment example, assume $10,000 is collected across twenty equal transactions at the listed rate. The percentage component is $290 and the fixed component is $6, totaling $296. That example excludes subscription charges, taxes, refunds and any other applicable terms. It is arithmetic from the stated assumptions, not a prediction of your monthly bill. Changing transaction count changes the fixed component even if collected revenue stays the same.

Compare that pattern with your actual invoices and deposits. A deposit and a later balance can be separate transactions. If you are still designing your customer paperwork, use the deposit line in the quote template to make the schedule clear. Verify the applicable processing agreement directly with the vendor, particularly when comparing online transactions with in-person methods or bank payments. A headline starting rate should never be treated as a universal fee for every collection method.

Is Jobber worth it for a small crew?

Judge the subscription against a specific administrative problem. If quotes are being lost between a phone note and an evening spreadsheet, test whether the selected plan keeps the scope, approval and follow-up together. If the main concern is accounting duplication, test the synchronization with your own sample records. Those are observable results you can evaluate. A large feature list or a low price alone cannot establish the value for a particular business.

Write a short acceptance checklist before a trial or demonstration: add a customer, prepare a revised quote, schedule a visit, and find the resulting invoice. Give a helper the tasks they would actually perform and check whether the permissions and mobile workflow fit. Include export and cancellation questions so you know how records can be retained if you later choose another system. Keep any demonstration data separate from real customer information until you understand the setup.

Driveway Desk focuses on quotes, a reusable price book, scheduling and invoices for small home-service crews. Its plan details live on the pricing page. This comparison does not assign ratings or claim that one product wins for every trade. Return to the comparison hub to examine another option using the same workload, crew count and billing assumptions. The useful decision is whether the workflow solves enough of your recurring work to justify its total cost.

Jobber pricing questions

Is Jobber actually worth it?

Evaluate the tasks you need to improve, then test them in the tier you would purchase. A successful demonstration of quoting, follow-up and accounting is more useful than a generic value claim. Compare the recurring subscription and processing terms with the work your business would actually move into the system.

Is there a cheaper option than Jobber?

There are other pricing models, including subscriptions with different user bundles or job-volume limits. The alternatives page lists dated examples, but lower price does not establish equal features. Keep required accounting, access and follow-up capabilities constant before deciding whether another option costs less for your particular workflow.

Why does Jobber cost more when I need QuickBooks?

The published plan structure places QuickBooks Online synchronization in Connect and above. If that capability is required, the relevant budget is for that tier rather than the entry plan. Check the full feature list and billing commitment because both influence which displayed amount applies to the offer you are considering.

Does the Jobber calculator add an extra-user fee?

No extra-seat amount is added in the one-, three- and five-person scenarios because they use the included seats of the selected Connect bundles. The calculator does not cover larger teams. Confirm current bundle and additional-access terms directly if your total office and field headcount exceeds the displayed choices.

Are Jobber payment charges included in the subscription total?

The calculator reports subscription cost only. Processing depends on collected revenue, payment method and transaction count, so it is explained separately with a worked example. Use the applicable vendor agreement to model your own collections rather than assuming a fixed payment expense for every business with the same number of people.
