Lawn care contract template: define the season and service
Start a seasonal agreement with the property, the parties and the dates it covers. Describe the maintained areas so the crew and customer are talking about the same lawn. Front yard, back yard, side strips and shared access can create different expectations. State which services belong in an ordinary visit and which need separate approval. Mowing, edging and clearing clippings are different activities from hedge trimming, leaf removal or hauling debris.
Write the expected visit frequency and the planned number of visits. These are planning details, not a guarantee about weather or growth. A weekly schedule may need adjustment during a dry period or after heavy rain. Put the adjustment process in the agreement so both sides know how to handle a change. Record access requirements, pets or obstacles in the appropriate job notes without including unnecessary private information.
Use the lawn mowing price calculator to inspect your time and rate assumptions before filling the price lines. The labor cost calculator can help separate the cost of crew time from the amount charged to the customer. This template is not legal advice. Contract requirements vary; have the agreement reviewed for your circumstances before relying on it. The sample wording is editable so you can make the document reflect the arrangement you actually intend to offer.
Lawn care contract template: price per visit and skipped work
The line items describe one visit. Their quantities and prices produce the price per visit, with any tax percentage you enter shown separately. The planned seasonal amount multiplies that total by the number of visits. It is a forecast based on those inputs, not an automatic charge for every date on the calendar. The payment and skip clauses need to explain what happens when the number of completed visits differs from the plan.
For a filled example, use one mowing visit at $55 and one edging service at $10. With zero tax entered, the visit total is $65. Twenty planned visits produce a $1,300 seasonal forecast. If two visits are skipped without charge under the agreed policy, eighteen completed visits would total $1,170. These are demonstration inputs, not local market rates. A $20 deposit per visit leaves $45 against that visit. Explain when each deposit is due, rather than leaving the customer to guess whether it covers one visit or the season.
The quote template can present a separate one-time cleanup, and the markup and margin calculator helps inspect the margin on any materials. Keep recurring maintenance and optional projects distinguishable. A customer should be able to tell which amount repeats, when payment is due, and which additional work requires a fresh approval.
Lawn care contract template: clause notes and signatures
The rain clause should say who decides a visit cannot proceed safely and how the replacement date is arranged. The skip clause should say whether a skipped visit is charged, deferred or removed from the season. Those decisions affect the forecast, so read the policy alongside the visit count and price. Avoid promising a fixed date regardless of conditions if your crew cannot safely meet that promise.
Payment terms should identify when the customer receives a bill and when it is due. Cancellation wording should explain how notice is given and how completed work is handled. This worksheet does not decide which notice periods or charges are lawful for your location. It also does not verify identities or create a certified electronic signature. The signature fields can hold names and dates, or you can print the document for handwritten signatures after review.
Download a copy for both parties and keep any later amendments with it. The work order template can record individual visits, exceptions and parts used. If you are choosing software for recurring work, the Jobber alternative comparison describes several approaches to crew access and job volume. Return to all free tools when the scope changes. A seasonal agreement is most useful when its notes describe how your business and customer will handle ordinary interruptions, not just an ideal run of identical visits.
Lawn care contract template questions
Does the lawn agreement guarantee every planned visit?
The planned visit count is an input for the seasonal forecast. It does not override the rain, skip or cancellation policy you write. State how missed visits are handled and review the resulting amount with the customer so a forecast is not mistaken for an unconditional promise about the schedule.
Is the lawn template legal advice?
No. It is a drafting worksheet with editable prompts for the commercial details of recurring lawn work. It cannot determine the requirements in your location or whether a particular clause is enforceable. Have the finished terms reviewed for your circumstances before relying on them as an agreement.
How should a rain delay affect the lawn charge?
Choose and state the policy you actually intend to follow. You might reschedule the visit or skip it without charge, but the worksheet does not choose for you. Make the timing and billing consequences clear in the rain and skip fields, then reflect the completed visits in your records.
Can I include trimming as an optional seasonal service?
Describe the included services precisely and keep optional work distinguishable. If trimming is not part of the ordinary visit, explain that it needs separate approval and pricing. Adding its cost to every visit would change the recurring amount, so check the line items against the service description before sharing.
Where are copies of the lawn contract stored?
This page does not keep a saved agreement or customer file. Download the PDF while the fields are filled, then retain and share copies through your own process. If either party later changes the season, price or services, keep the revised document alongside the earlier version and the approval record.
